Trojan Strength Training Philosophy
The goals of the Trojan strength program are to optimize athletic performance and reduce the potential for injury through a comprehensive training program that improves core strength, balance, flexibility, agility, explosive power and speed.
How we train: We are training our athletes to be athletic. Everything we do in a game situation is on our feet, hence we train on our feet. Our training is heavy in the Olympic type exercises with minimal static movements. For example, rather than lying down and pushing a lot of weight slowly, we are on our feet moving the maximum amount of weight that we can, quickly and explosively. We don't play lying on our backs, we play on our feet. Our program uses exercises that simulate movement patterns on the field. Trojan Strength allows our athletes to have the stamina needed to be as strong, fast, and explosive at the end of the game as they are at the beginning. In our opinion, Trojan Strength training gives us a mental edge and creates a positive culture. Workouts are designed to be efficient and competitive.
Our philosophy prepares our athletes to be successful on the field. If they were body builders or power lifters we would train them differently.
